Staff
Our professional care staff all have NVQ Level 2 or higher. We’re delighted to introduce you to some of them.
Marcia Tonkin
Marcia was appointed as the registered manager at Grace House in 2021.
She has more than 30 years in the care sector, and has been a home manager for 17 years, most recently at St Andrews Care Home in Stevenage.
Rafia
Rafia is a Senior Carer at Grace House. She joined the home in 2016.
Rama
Rama is a Senior Carer at Grace House, having joined the home in 2018. His calm Christian kindness is much appreciated by our residents.
Latha
Latha has been serving the residents of Grace House since 2008. She is caring and thoughtful, passionate for the safety and comfort of everyone living in the home.
Mallika
Mallika came to Grace House in 2014. Sometimes together with her sister Melanie, she works the night shifts to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable.
Paula
Paula is our amazing chef. She is classically trained and creates tasty and healthy meals for the home’s residents, in line with their preferences and needs.
Residents
Grace House takes up to 10 residents. We’re delighted to introduce some here.
J
J enjoys chatting with her friends in the home, particularly at lunch. She joins in the home’s exercise and art classes, and as a keen gardener enjoys potting plants. She is happy when friends call into the home to see her, and sometimes they take her out for a drive.
She participates in her church’s online service every Sunday service, as well as the home’s weekly Bible study.
She is looking forward to getting her telegram from the Queen in the next few years.
P
P has a distinctive sense of humour. She knows very well what she likes, which includes her daily digest of the newspaper in the Grace House day room.
She enjoys being visited at weekends. Resplendent in pinks and purples, she had a great time attending a family wedding this year
V
V very much enjoys her view of the Grace House garden, although she hopes there will be more flowers, (something we’re working on).
An opera singer in her day – in many languages including her own Welsh – she enjoys welcoming pupils and still gives the occasional lesson.
V is an enthusiastic reader, with a special interest in medieval history, and is great company at the dinner table.
Trustees
Suki Choi
Suki Choi is a qualified carer and has worked as a volunteer at Grace House.
Suki leads for all things relating to people at Grace House – looking at wellbeing of our residents as well as our staff.
Suki attends Christ Church in North Finchley.
Nick Harvey
Nick has a long-standing association with Grace House with his mother having been a resident for many years, and is passionate about the high quality of care which the home gives.
Professionally, Nick is the financial controller of a large sports marketing corporation.
He is the lead trustee for all things relating to the Christian Care Trust’s finances.
He is on the church council of All Saints’, Ealing.
Will Hawkes
Will Hawkes is the lead trustee for all things relating to regulators, in particular in relation to the Care Quality Commission (for which he is Grace House’s ‘nominated individual’) and the Charities Commission.
Supporters
Rev. Mavis Crispin
Mavis is an associate minister at St Paul’s Finchley. She is a tremendously experienced leader, having worked in places like Peru and Rwanda.
Mavis hosts holy communion for the home’s residents.
Claire Disbrey
Claire has a long-standing association with Grace House, having been the home’s chaplain for many years.
She leads our Sunday evening worship services.
Ann Gilbert
Ann Gilbert founded the Christian Care Trust in 1997, in response to God’s call. She was the driving force behind the establishment of Grace House. Ann was the home’s manager for many years, as well as the managing trustee. She retired in 2020.
Rev. Dave Walker
Dave is the minister at Christ Church North Finchley. He visits the home regularly to spend time with the residents, including prayers and Bible reading.
