1 Peter 4: 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Grace House is supported by a community of friends, volunteers and churches who help us provide a warm and caring Christian home for our residents. Many supporters join our regular services, spend time talking with residents at mealtimes, or share their gifts in other ways that enrich the life of the home.

The Trust’s policy is to provide a higher standard of personal care than is provided in commercial care homes, in order to make life more interesting and enjoyable for residents in their declining years. This has been shown to be effective in prolonging the life of residents, despite severe disabilities. We take efforts to ensure our building and garden are a pleasant, safe and stimulating environment for our residents. We maintain a more favourable ratio of staff to residents, particularly during waking hours, to ensure that residents are not left alone for significant periods of time.
Donations help us sustain the charity, enabling us to invest in our infrastructure and support activities that enrich the daily lives of our residents. As a charity, contributions are, of course, Gift Aid-able. If you would like to contribute to our mission, please get in touch so we can discuss more.

Volunteer
Grace House is greatly enriched by the time and generosity of our volunteers. A number of local people, including retired members of the community, regularly visit the home to spend time with residents and offer Christian companionship. Others contribute by leading activities such as art or exercise sessions.
We also welcome students who come to Grace House as part of their studies, including sixth-form students undertaking T-Level Health placements. In addition, we enjoy visits from local primary schools and monthly Sunday visits from church youth groups, which bring energy and joy to the home.
These visits and friendships help make Grace House feel like a true community, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who gives their time in this way. If you would be interested in volunteering with us, we would be very pleased to hear from you. Please get in touch using the contact details on our Contact Us page.
